International Law Moot Court Competition: Asia Cup

General
The International Law Moot Court Competition "Asia Cup" is an international moot court competition. Asia Cup has been hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, since 2003. ILSEC is also working as organizer.
Over 30 universities from Asian countries (including Japan, Singapore, Indnesia, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Korea, and so on) participate in this competition. Students contend for their ability in writing memorials and presenting oral pleadings on a fictitious lawsuit case concerning international law, like Jessup or Vis Moot.
History
Asia Cup started in 1999 under the leadership of Professor Tsutsui Wakamizu (the University of Tokyo), with the aim of making "Japan Cup", International Law moot court competition among Japanese universities held since 1996, evolve into one that is open to students all over Asia.
Importance
“Asia Cup” has become a prime event in the field of the international law moot court competitions and has offered outstanding opportunities to promote good fellowship among the representatives from different Asian countries. Accordingly, this event has gained growing recognition as international cooperation in the realm of international law education.
